Captains
There are many captains in Starfleet, and there have also been
great captains, and some are famous. Following is a list of the
great and famous captains that Starfleet has had the privilage of
training.

Captain April
Captain Robert T. April is the first commanding officer of
the Constitution-class starship U.S.S. Enterprised NCC-1701. He
assumes command when Enterprise is launched in 2245, and leads
the ship's first five year mission of deep space exploration. He
remains in command of the enterprise until 2250, after which he
is replaced by Christopher Pike.

Captain Bateson
Commander of the Soyuz-class starship U.S.S. Bozeman,
registry number NCC-1941. Captain Morgan Bateson's ship
disappears into a temporal causality loop near the Typhon Expanse
in 2278. The Bozeman is rescued 90 years later, in 2368, by the
U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D, and returned to its own time; the
crew are unaware that any more than a few weeks have passed since
they left starbase.

Captain Benteen
As adjutant to Admiral Leyton, Benteen serves at Starfleet
Command during the feared Dominion takeover of 2372, and is later
promoted to commander of the U.S.S. Lakota. She is loyal to
Admiral Leyton during his attempted military coup, but refuses
his command to destroy the U.S.S. Defiant.
Captain Chandra
Chandra is one of a number of senior officers who serve as
a judge at the court martial hearing of Captain James T. Kirk on
Starbase 11 in 2265.
Captain Darson
Commanding officer of the Ambassador-class starship, U.S.S.
Adelphi NCC-26849. Captain Darson conducts the disastrous first
contact with the planet Ghorusda, in which he and 46 others are
killed. He is later found responsible for the incident by a
Starfleet Board of Inquiry.
The unfortunate incident reiterates to the Federation how
important it is to rigidly enforce procedures for such
situations, thus minimizing the cultural contamination to the
planet, and the risk to the Starfleet officers initiating the
contact. To achieve this aim, Starfleet often employs first
conact specialists.
Captain Decker
Cammander of the Constitution-class U.S.S. Enterprise
NCC-1701, during the ships refit of 2270-1. Willard Decker is
assigned to the command of the Enterprise on the personal
recommendation of Admiral James T. Kirk, but is downgraded to
Executive Officer when the ship is sent to intercept V'Ger in
2271; Kirk assumes command. Decker is lost when he merges with
V'Ger in a successful attempt to deflect the threat it poses. He
remains listed as missing in action.
Captain DeSoto
Commander of the Excelsior-class starship, the U.S.S. Hood
NCC-42296. De'Soto is William Riker's commanding officer, before
Riker's assignment to the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D as first
officer in 2364.
Captain Edwell
High-ranking Starfleet officers come from many worlds.
Captain Edwell is a native of the planet Gaspar VII.
Captain Entebe
Commanding officer of the Nebula-class U.S.S. Ulysses,
registry number NCC-66808. Entebe studies protoplanet masses in
the Helaspont Nebula in 2371.
Captain Esteban
Commandar of the Oberth-class science vessel U.S.S.
Grissom, registry number NCC-638. Esteban is assigned to sdudy
the Genesis Planet in 2285; he and his crew are killed when the
Grissom is attacked by a Klingon Bird-of-Prey.
Captain Garrett
Commander of the Ambassador-class starship U.S.S.
Enterprise, registry number NCC-1701-C. Garrett commanded the
rescue mission to the Klingon outpost on Narendra III in 2344.
Her ship is caught in a temporal rift and propelled 22 years into
the future, creating an alternate timeline in which the United
Federation of Planets is at war with the Klingon Empire. Garrett
is killed in 2366 when her ship is attacked by several Klingon
Birds-of-Prey, her remaining crew honor her wishes to return to
their own time in order to repair the damage to the timeline.
Captain
Garrovick
Captain Garrovick was the commanding officer of the
Constitution-class starship U.S.S. Farragut, registry number
NCC-1647. He was killed in 2257, along with 200 members of his
crew, by the dikironium cloud creature discovered at Tycho IV.
ONe of the survivors of the attack was the then-Lt. James T.
Kirk. Garrovick's son also joins Starfleet; he serves as an
ensign on board the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701, under the command
of Captain Kirk.
Captain Garth
Fleet Captain Garth was responsible for preserving the
Federation during the Battle of Axanar in the 2250s. Several
years later, he was serioulsy injured in an accident, but
tecovered with the help of the inhabitants of Antos IV, who
taught him to repair his body using cellular metamorphosis.
Unfortunately, this ability also rendered him criminally insane.
he was institutionalized at the rehabilitation centre on Elba II
after ordering his crew to destroy Antos IV. Garth later tries to
escape from Elba II using his powers to alter his appearance; the
escape is foiled by Captain Kirk. Garth then undergoes treatment
to cure him of his madness.
Captain Gleason
Commander of the Ambassador-class starship, U.S.S. Zhukov,
refistry number NCC-62136. Gleason is the commanding officer of
Lt. Reginald Barclay prior to Barclay's transfer to the U.S.S.
Enterprise NCC-1701-D.
